Our position
Barbarian Facilities Management Limited does not offer, give, request or accept bribes, facilitation payments or improper benefits in any form. We comply with the Bribery Act 2010 and expect everyone acting for us to do the same, wherever they work.
What this means in practice
- No one may offer or accept a gift, hospitality or payment intended to influence a business decision, or that could reasonably look that way
- Modest, occasional hospitality and gifts are acceptable only if they are proportionate, open and recorded with a manager
- Facilitation payments and kickbacks are prohibited
- We do not make political or charitable donations as a way of gaining business advantage
- Records of payments and expenses must be accurate and complete
Third parties
We carry out sensible checks on suppliers, subcontractors and agents and expect them to follow equivalent standards.
Speaking up
Staff who are offered a bribe, or who suspect corruption, must report it immediately to a director. Reports made in good faith are treated confidentially and no one will suffer for raising a concern. Breaches may lead to disciplinary action, termination of contracts and referral to the authorities.
